Kids’ outerwear – rainwear, jackets and layers for outdoor play

Children’s outerwear needs to handle more than weather. It should work when children run, sit on wet ground, climb, cycle or play outside for longer. At Tretorn, you will find rain jackets, rain sets, rain trousers, fleece and waterproof jackets for preschool, school and active days outdoors.

In rain and wet conditions, a rain set gives the best coverage because it protects both the upper body and legs. A rain jacket is often enough for shorter time outdoors or light rain. When temperatures drop, fleece or another midlayer can add warmth under a jacket or rain set.

How to choose the right kids’ outerwear

Start with how long the child will be outside and what the garment needs to handle. For preschool and longer outdoor play, a rain set is often the most practical choice, especially when children sit, crawl or play close to the ground. For school, walks and everyday use, a rain jacket or waterproof jacket can be more flexible.

When the weather changes during the day, layers are often best. A warming layer can be worn under the jacket in the morning and removed later if the temperature rises.
